On January 30, 2007, the Financial Times, the world's leading business newspaper, brought together over 200 senior decision-makers from China and the Gulf, including top government officials and regulators, for a major conference in Dubai focused on the opportunities and challenges generated by the very rapid growth in trade and investment between the two regions.
The FT China-Middle East Summit ¡V organised at the Dubai International Financial Centre in association with First Eastern Investment Bank, the first Chinese bank licensed by the DIFC ¡V produced a vibrant and stimulating discussion on one of the key aspects of the 'new Silk Road' that is transforming economic and business relations between Asia and the Middle East.
